Lots of content pulls in to the frontend via modules instead, to suit the template layouts. Because articles don't always suit everything.
The more 'easy' access they have to edit content the less of a support burden it becomes on a design team to make simple changes, so its a worthy path to take when there are 1000+ sites hosted. Just a shame Joomla still doesn't allow full configuration of some areas, such as this, then it really would elevate it further for this purpose.
I have checked the Module settings under global config but barely any settings there which can be changed. Also checked editing settings under Article Options too. But nothing so detailed.
